Prof. S.P. Thapaliyal is presently working as Dean & Director HSMS, Advisor to Vice –Chancellor at Swami Rama Himalayan University. He is a Master in Business Administration, M.A. (Economics) and B. Ed. in Human Psychology. He also Post Graduate Diploma in Quality Management. He has submitted his Ph.D. Thesis Submitted in the Allahabad University, Allahabad. The zeal to serve his mother land motivated him to come back to Uttarakhand. He left his legacy of bright corporate career, while serving many international and national organizations holding a key position such as Group President, Vice President and Heading Human Resources, Total Quality Management Administration& Strategic Planning etc. His last assignment in the corporate world was the President in the Arvind Mafatlal Group -.till 2012.
Immediately after leaving corporate world he joined the prestigious Shri Guru Ram Rai Education Mission as a Director of Institute of Technology & Sciences (ITS) and Vice Chairmen of Shri Guru Ram Rai Mission. Where he contributed selflessly towards its growth creating new landmarks in the sphere of education, employee satisfaction, improvement of services to the patients, introduction of advanced technology laboratories, setting-up of a new advanced Trauma Center etc. during a span of 2 years.
Presently he is working as a Dean HSMS and Advisor to Vice-Chancellor in Swami Rama Himalayan University. He is immediate past president of National Center for Quality Management(NCQM)-started by Jamuna Lal Bajaj. He was invited by companies as a mentor to suggest ways for increasing their production and quality Conducted 1500 + workshops on Leadership, Team Building, Profitability Organization Transformation, Vision, Mission and Values, Lean Manufacturing, Business Challenges & Imperatives, Mergers & Acquisitions, Turnaround Downsizing, Economic Slowdown. Etc.
He has prepared many companies for national & international quality awards by implementing Small Group Activities (SGA), Kaizen, TPM, 5s, ISO, Suggestion Schemes, 6 Sigma etc. successfully during his career span.
As a president of National Center for Quality Management (NCQM) he promoted 6 (Six Sigma), a highly disciplined process that helps focus on developing and delivering near-perfect products and services. This resulted in savings ranging from 1.5 to 12 crores to the companies.
Regular contributor of articles on Human Resource, 6 Sigma and Quality in magazines and bulletins of various organizations.
A recipient of many awards viz. Best HR Executive Award, Best Employee Award and Certification of Appreciation etc.
Conferred with the Indira Super Achiever Award for valuable contribution made in the area of HR &Training by the Indira Group of Institutions.
